Below are activity ideas that you and your child can do together. The activities cover different math ideas, and they vary by difficulty level. There are also entertaining and challenging math games from FAMILY MATH for two or more players.

As you read through an activity or game, you may not know how it will end, or what all the answers are. That's okay! You will learn the answers along with your child. Enjoy the journey!

Numbers Down the Street
In this activity, your child investigates many ways that numbers are widely used in the world. This activity builds skills in Numbers and Operations and Algebra and Functions.
 
Exploring Area
In this activity, your child explores the meaning of area and the rules used to find it. This activity builds skills in Measurement and Geometry and Problem Solving.
 
Empire State Building
In this activity, your child explores scale and proportion by making scale drawings of the Empire State Building. This activity builds skills in Measurement and Geometry and Procedural Knowledge.
 
3-D Shapes and Volume
In this activity, your child explores how much different three-dimensional shapes can hold. This activity builds skills in Measurement and Geometry.
 
Percents and Probability
In this activity, your child learns about percent chances of things occurring. This activity builds skills in Data Analysis and Probability.
 
Making Up Problems
In this activity, your child makes up math problems and then solves them. This activity builds skills in all areas of mathematics.
 
What Are Numbers Made of?
In this activity, your child explores how numbers can be made up of other numbers using operations (addition, subtraction, multiplication, division). This activity builds skills in Numbers and Operations and Procedural Knowledge.
 
Logic Problems
In this activity, your child solves and creates logic problems. This activity builds skills in problem solving, which is applicable in all areas of mathematics.
 
Perfect Squares
In this activity, your child connects number and geometry while exploring perfect squares. This activity builds skills in Numbers and Operations and Measurement and Geometry.
 
Excursion into Base–4
In this activity, your child plunges into the fascinating world of different number systems. This activity builds skills in Numbers and Operations and Procedural Knowledge.
 
Using Math to Answer Big Questions
